Our History

The Cyprus Turkish Pediatric Association was founded on 25 September 2002, when its bylaws were approved by the official authorities. Its official name is the Cyprus Turkish Pediatric Association, and it is governed by the Societies and Associations Law (Birlikler ve Dernekler Yasası).

Under our bylaws, the association's objectives include: conducting scientific work in the field of Pediatrics; building professional solidarity and consensus among members; helping members keep pace with new developments and practices; encouraging professional publications; exchanging information with official authorities and local and foreign institutions; cooperating with relevant institutions on child health to protect and advance children's physical and mental health as well as their social rights; and contributing to the continuous development of the Pediatric clinics affiliated with the TRNC Ministry of Health.

Since our foundation, we have supported professional knowledge sharing in child health, strengthened communication among doctors and contributed to work that advances children's health. Our organs are renewed every two years at our Ordinary General Assembly; the most recent, our 11th Ordinary General Assembly, was held on 14 June 2025, electing new Board, Supervisory, Honour and Disciplinary Boards.
