Membership Requirements
Under the association's bylaws, there are three types of membership: Founding Membership, Full Membership and Honorary Membership. Below are the requirements for Full Membership, which physicians may apply for.
To become a full member, an applicant must:
- Be a graduate of a Faculty of Medicine and hold one of the following: a specialty in Pediatrics, a specialty in Pediatric Surgery, a specialty in Child Psychiatry, be a resident physician training in Pediatrics, or hold another subspecialty or superspecialty related to Pediatrics,
- Be a citizen of the TRNC residing in the TRNC,
- Be registered with the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association,
- Be at least eighteen years of age,
- Pay the membership dues.
Physicians who meet these requirements apply in writing to the Board of Directors. Membership is granted once the Board approves the application and the applicant pays the registration fee together with the dues owed for that year. The registration fee is set at three times the annual membership due, and the amount of the due itself is determined by the General Assembly.
Honorary Membership may be granted by decision of the Board of Directors to individuals who do not meet the citizenship, residency or Medical Association registration requirements, but who are at least eighteen years old, hold the academic title of associate professor or professor in Pediatrics, and have made a scientific contribution to the association.
